Infant and toddler program
infant Developmental Needs
A secure attachment bond stems from the wordless emotional exchange between the infant and the caregiver. This ensures that the infant feels safe and calm, and can experience optimal development of their nervous system. Secure attachment provides your baby with the best foundation for life. They develop an eagerness to learn, a healthy self-awareness, and trust and consideration for others.
Infants at wWCA
Infants at WWCA will engage in a Montessori-style classroom with highly trained and experienced teachers. They will have a separate space for napping. They will also be on their own napping and eating schedules. We collaborate with each child's parents to introduce the child to new foods at a pace that works for them. The small group environment will allow the child to receive attachment-style care, promoting healthy growth and development.
toddler Developmental Needs
Toddlers have the desire to explore new objects and people. During this stage, they will show greater independence, and sometimes begin to show defiant behavior. They can begin to recognize themselves in pictures or a mirror, and will imitate the behavior of others, especially adults and other children.
Toddlers at WWCA
Toddlers at WWCA will engage and learn in a Montessori-style classroom with highly trained and experienced teachers. In this transition phase, the child will begin to socialize with preschool-aged kids. They will participate in a weekly themed, age-appropriate preschool program. They will explore the Wee Wilderness, where they can experience the outdoors in a safe and educational environment. WWCA offers mostly organic, highly nutritious meals and snacks that are in compliance with USDA guidelines. Our meal plans allow children to experience a variety of tastes and textures to try to develop a diverse palate. There is a focus on fueling your child throughout the day to assure that their growth and development is optimized.
